Parents stage protest against corrupt headmaster

A group of parents has mounted a non-violent protest at a school in Miraflores, taking control of the outside of the buildings in protest against what they described as acts of corruption committed by headmaster Manuel Mendoza.

Talking to CPN Radio, the parents argued that
Mendoza had allowed several pupils to graduate although they had failed four courses, which ought to oblige them to repeat a school year.

This case has already been reported to the Education Management Unit as well as to the Ministry of Education, after
Mendoza denied parents the right to assemble within the precincts of the school.
