Weather forecast

While the dense cloud and temperatures as low as 12°C are set to continue in Lima, Peru’s weather service has also issued a warning of strong coastal winds, which may cause dangers for coastal and water sports activities.

In the southern mountains of Peru, and particularly in the Puno and Cuzco areas, the current freezing temperatures are expected to continue. There is a possibility that the main Puno-Cuzco highway and railway may be closed due to snowfall, but this is not considered likely.

Unusually low temperatures are also expected in the eastern rainforests, with unsettled conditions and a likelihood of storms over the next 96 hours.

The meteorological office has warned that Lima’s international airport may be closed late at night due to fog, and that climatic conditions make air transport in the jungle inadvisable.
